Boil Water Advisory

Boil Water Advisory Notice

Dear Wynndel Irrigation District Residents,

Due to recent heavy rainfall and melting snow, the water turbidity levels in our water supply have increased significantly. Turbidity refers to the cloudiness or haziness of a fluid caused by large numbers of individual particles that are generally invisible to the naked eye. As a result, we have observed lower than usual chlorine levels in our water treatment system.

While the water remains safe for most uses, including bathing and washing, we are advising all residents to boil their water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

What Should You Do:

  1. Boil Water: Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one minute. Allow the water to cool before using or store it in a clean, covered container.

  2. Alternative Water Sources: If boiling is not feasible, consider using bottled water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth.

  3. Special Precautions for Vulnerable Populations: Infants, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems should seek advice from their healthcare providers regarding their water consumption.

Why Boil Water:

Boiling water kills bacteria, parasites, and viruses that may be present in the water due to increased turbidity. This advisory is issued to ensure the safety and well-being of our community members.

Duration of Advisory:

This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. We are actively monitoring the water quality, and updates will be provided as soon as the situation improves.
